England U17s make it two wins from two with a commanding 27-2 (6-0, 7-0, 5-2, 9-0) triumph over Denmark this evening in Brno. The victory secures top place in the group and we will now contest a second group phase against likely opponents South Africa, Switzerland and hosts Czech Republic. A fantastic fight back after an unsettled first quarter saw England’s U17 junior men convert 3 unanswered goals in both the second and third quarters to turn a 3 -1 deficit into a lead 3 – 7 going into the final quarter against the Czech Republic hosts in Brno at the EU Nations Cup.
Final score was CZE 6 – ENG 10 (3-1, 0-3, 0-3, 3-3)

Game 4 v Switzerland April 15
Victory! England U17s edge a tense match against a powerful Switzerland side 6-5 (2-2, 2-2, 2-0, 0-1) to make it four wins from four at the EU Nations Cup in Brno.
After an even first half, England shut out the Swiss in the third quarter to take a two-goal lead, which was enough to secure all the points.
Our scorers v Switzerland: Parnell (2), Stephenson, Lear, Hunt & Patterson. Also a huge team performance and a sensational result!
Next up is a winner takes all match against South Africa tomorrow (Easter Sunday), 11.40am start UK time.

Game 5, The final v South Africa April 16
England U17s win the silver medal after narrowly losing a dramatic final match against South Africa 8-6 (2-2, 1-1, 3-2, 2-1).
England battled hard throughout and were unfortunate to fall behind to a physical South Africa at the end of a tight third quarter.
It was another superb team performance from England and despite fighting back in the final period we ultimately had to settle for the silver medal – which to take home is a fantastic achievement!

There was more joy for England after the final whistle as Thomas Manley was rewarded for his outstanding performances by being named Goalkeeper of the Tournament.

Huge congratulations to all the players and coaching staff. Finishing second on the podium is a great start to the preparations for next month’s European Qualifiers in Manchester.

This has been another exciting month with City of Manchester pulling off an amazing double victory in the Super 5s as their men’s and women’s teams won their respective super 5 crowns. The men’s event came down to a thrilling finale with City of Manchester playing Polytechnic for a winner takes all showdown. City of Manchester secured a 15-12 victory over last year’s champions to take the crown while Sutton & Cheam secured their place in the Champions Cup with a 5-9 victory over Cheltenham and Welsh Wanderers took the third spot.
