Game 1 ENG v SUI

England U19s started their EU Nations campaign with a powerful 14-5 (5-1, 3-1, 3-0, 3-3) victory over Switzerland in Brno.

Robyn Greenslade and Stephanie Whittaker fired in hat-tricks, while captain Annie Clapperton (2), Katy Cutler (2), Milly Wordley, Lily Turner, Emily Pyper and Emmie-Rose Eastwood were also on target to secure the winning start.

England’s defence was outstanding throughout and goalkeeper Sophie Jackson pulled off several sensational saves, including keeping out a first quarter penalty.

Next up for our TYR-sponsored England were the hosts Czech Republic, 7.50pm local time.

Game 2 ENG v CZE

A fantastic Friday for our England U19s as they made it two wins from two at the EU Nations with a 23-8 (5-2, 7-4, 6-0, 5-2) victory over the hosts, Czech Republic.

England were again ruthless in attack, with Stephanie Whittaker (5), Annie Clapperton (4), Lily Turner (4), Robyn Greenslade (4), Milly Wordley (3), Isabel Riches, Katy Cutler and Emmie-Rose Eastwood scoring the goals to secure maximum points.

The result put England firmly in charge of Group B going into day two of the competition, with just one preliminary match left to play – Scotland at 11.40am local time – before Saturday’s crossover semi-finals.

Game 3 ENG v SCO

England U19s stormed into the semi-finals of the EU Nations Senior Women’s Water Polo Tournament by beating Scotland 24-8 (5-2, 6-1, 4-2, 9-3).

The win saw England finish top of Group B and they faced South Africa, runners-up of Group A, for a place in Sunday’s gold medal match.

England dominated Scotland throughout and our goalscorers were Robyn Greenslade (5), Annie Clapperton (4), Katy Cutler (3), Lily Turner (3), Emily Pyper (3), Stephanie Whittaker (2), Milly Wordley (2), Molly Boniface-Ashton and Amelia Peters.

Yet another powerful performance from our talented youngsters as they continued their preparations for this year’s European and World Championships.

Game 4 Semi-final ENG v RSA

England U19s reached the final of the EU Nations Senior Women’s Tournament after a sensational 9-7 (3-1, 2-0, 2-3, 2-3) semi-final triumph over South Africa.

Lily Turner 3, Annie Clapperton 2, Millie Wordley 2, Katy Cutler & Emmie-Rose Eastwood were all on the scoresheet as England sealed their fourth successive victory in Brno to set up a thrilling clash with Switzerland.

Another fantastic overall performance.

Game 5 Final ENG v SUI

GOLD! England’s U19s were crowned champions at the EU Nations Senior Women’s Tournament in Brno after beating Switzerland 14-1 (5-0, 3-0, 2-0, 4-1).

England’s talented youngsters powered their way to the top of the podium, comfortably winning each quarter to ensure they would be taking the trophy home.

Molly Boniface-Ashton (5), Lily Turner (2), Stephanie Whittaker (3), Robyn Greenslade (2), Annie Clapperton and Katy Cutler all fired home, while Sophie Jackson was named goalkeeper of the tournament during the medal ceremony.

The triumph completes a magnificent May for England and GB water polo, after GB’s U19s qualified for the European Championships and England’s senior men and U19 women won gold at the EU Nations.
