Game 1: GBR v The Netherlands

Tough start for Great Britain’s U19 men in Malta as their European qualification campaign began with a 20-4 (5-2, 5-1, 6-0, 4-1) defeat to Netherlands. Francis Quinn (2), Daniel Bentham and Oliver Vodden were our goalscorers

Game 2: GBR v Malta

Great Britain’s U19s were beaten by Malta 9-6 in the second match of their European qualification campaign on Friday evening

Game 3: v Finland

Great Britain’s U19s finished their European qualifying campaign with a dominant 6-15 (1-3, 2-2, 1-4, 2-6) victory against Finland on Saturday morning.
Charlie Kingsmill top scored with five goals, while Adam Lecomber (3), Francis Quinn (2), Oliver Vodden (2), Daniel Bentham (1), Harry Dunkerley (1) and Daniel Day (1) also hit the target in a commanding performance by Andy McGinty’s squad.
The result sees Great Britain finish third in the group and we now wait to see if that will be enough to qualify for this year’s European Championships.

This has been another exciting month with City of Manchester pulling off an amazing double victory in the Super 5s as their men’s and women’s teams won their respective super 5 crowns. The men’s event came down to a thrilling finale with City of Manchester playing Polytechnic for a winner takes all showdown. City of Manchester secured a 15-12 victory over last year’s champions to take the crown while Sutton & Cheam secured their place in the Champions Cup with a 5-9 victory over Cheltenham and Welsh Wanderers took the third spot.
