Tim Dunsbee, England senior men’s water polo head coach

Tim said: “The England team for the senior EU Nations event has been selected with the 29th World University Games (Universiade) to be held in Chinese Taipei August 19th – 30th 2017 in mind. It’s obviously a very young side for a senior international team but we are looking forward to this competition as part of the preparation for the Universiade.”

Tim pointed out that, “we also have three players in the Universiade squad who are not available for selection for England because they are Welsh; Graham Harrington (Lancaster) Morgan Hirsch (Solihull) and Jack Simcox (Welsh Wanderers). Other players in the Universiade squad who are not traveling on this occasion are Declan Thompson ( Castleford) Sean Greatorex (Castleford) Peter Deutsch (Sheffield) and Jake Vincent (Solihull).

The EU Nations event is a great opportunity to compete at an international level and forms an important part of the ongoing preparation for the World University Games, and then ultimately onto re-entry into the senior European Championships in 2019. The staff and team are looking forward to the challenges ahead!”

The event schedule is now available (although as yet without competing nations info)

Water Polo England wishes Tim, his staff and the men’s senior England team every success!
