Lucy Blenkinship led the scoring with five goals, while Josephine Lamont-Tuckett (4), Elsie Graves (4), Zianna Wright (3), Isabella Ibbs (2), Harriet Bates (2) and Alice Berrill (1) were also on target, as Nick Hume’s squad recovered from a slow start to secure an emphatic win.

Great Britain’s U20 women made it two wins from two at the European Championships in Portugal with a powerful 21-12 (5-1, 7-3, 5-2, 4-6) victory against Czechia on Monday. The result secures top spot in Group E, with Nick Hume’s squad now advancing to Tuesday’s crossovers for a place in the quarterfinals. A fast 5-1 start set the tone against Czechia, who were unable to keep pace as Great Britain kept driving forward, moving out of sight by the end of the third quarter before cruising to a comprehensive victory. Elsie Graves inflicted most of the damage with six goals, while Lucy Blenkinship (4), Jo Lamont-Tuckett (4), Harriet Bates (2), Zianna Wright (2), Georgia Haines (1), Alice Berrill (1) and captain Lily Ross (1) were also on target.

Great Britain’s U20 women have secured a top-eight finish at the European Championships after a hard-fought 13-12 (2-4, 5-1, 3-4, 3-3) crossover victory against France on Tuesday. Nick Hume’s squad recovered from 4-1 down to lead 7-5 at half-time, and although France levelled early in the third and fourth quarters, Great Britain had the willpower and determination to keep edging back in front. A fantastic all-round team performance saw Jo Lamont-Tuckett lead the scoring with five goals, while Lucy Blenkinship (4), Elsie Graves (2), Georgia Haines (1) and Isabella Ibbs (1) were also on target. In defence, goalkeeper Amelia Cook also produced several stunning saves to help keep the French at bay, seal the stunning win, and spark some spectacular celebrations in the pool and stand.

Great Britain’s U20s finished their European Championships campaign with a 23-14 (4-2, 6-0, 5-5, 8-7) defeat to Croatia on Friday.
The result saw Nick Hume’s squad finish eighth in the tournament after a series of impressive performances in Portugal saw them reach the quarterfinals.
