Game 1 GBR v Portugal
Great Britain’s U18 men opened their Division 1 European Water Polo Championship campaign in Rio Maior, Portugal with an impressive 20-12 (4-2, 5-3, 6-5, 5-2) victory against Austria on Monday 18th August
A strong first half saw Great Britain open up a five-goal lead, which put Great Britain in control and after that there was no way back for the Austrians.

Game 2 ISR v GBR
Great Britain faced a tough 2nd game at the European qualifiers on Tuesday against a strong Israel side, with the match eventually ending Israel 15 – GB 8
Israel nudged ahead of GB in the first three quarters before rounding off with a solid Q4 to secure the win 3-2, 6-4, 1-0, 5-2

Game 3 GBR v BEL
So close! Despite a storming fight back in Q4 our Great Britain U18 men went down 12-14 (2-3, 2-3, 2-4, 6-4) to a well organised Belgian side on Weds evening.
GB scorers were Bamborough 3, Mathieson 3, Crompton 2, Salimbeni 2, Buhaescue 1, Kinloch 1
Game 4 Lithuania v GBR
Despite a strong first quarter in their cross-over match on Thursday against Lithuania, our Great Britain U18s were eventually out scored by their Baltic opponents 19-14, (3-5, 8-4, 6-1, 2-4).
Our scorers were Mathieson 5, Buhaescu 2, Bamborough 2, and 1 each for Dickson, Roberts, Crompton, Phillips and Kinloch.
Game 5 CZE v GBR
A dominant first quarter for Great Britain set up a well deserved 9-12 (1-5, 4-2, 2-2, 2-3) victory against Czechia in their classification game at the European Aquatics U18 Division 1 Championships on Thursday.
Scorers against Czechia were Mathieson 5, Carpenter 2, and Kinloch, Bamborough, Dickson, Buhaescu and Hinton-Davies with 1 apiece.
Game 6 GBR v AUT
9th position secured at the European Championship Division 1 event by Tom Wall’s Great Britain U18s with a nail biting 12-14 (1-3, 3-3, 5-4, 3-4) win over Austria on Saturday.
GB scorers on the day were Bamborough 5, Mathieson 3, Salimbeni 2, Carpenter 3, Crompton 1
