GBR v Romania
Great Britain’s U18s got off to a winning start at the European Championships with a powerful 17-7 (4-0, 6-0, 2-4, 5-3) victory against Romania
Amelie Perkins led the scoring with six goals, while Zianna Wright (4), Elsie Graves (2), Georgia Haines (2), Lucy Blenkinship (1), Ruby Taylor (1) and Bella Ibbs (1) were also on target.
Bulgaria v GBR
Great Britain’s U18s made it two wins from two at the European Championships in Malta after beating Bulgaria 4-36 (1-11, 2-8, 1-8, 0-9) on Sunday afternoon
Amelie Perkins fired in 12 goals against Bulgaria, while Zianna Wright (5), Georgia Haines (4), Lucy Blenkinship (4), Jaspreet Gill (2), Elsie Graves (2), Hattie Bates (2), Jo Lamont-Tuckett (2), Lily Ross (2) and Bella Ibbs (1) were our other scorers.
Slovakia v GBR
Great Britain’s U18s secured their third successive victory at the European Championships in Malta with a powerful 6-17 (0-6, 2-4, 2-3, 2-4) win against Slovakia on Monday
Nick Hume’s squad have taken maximum points in the group stage so far after their triumphs against Romania (17-7) and Bulgaria (4-36) on day one.
Another excellent team performance saw Amelie Perkins add six more goals to her tournament tally, and Lucy Blenkinship (5), Zianna Wright (2), Hattie Bates (1), Jo Lamont-Tuckett (1), Georgia Haines (1) and Elsie Graves (1) were also on the scoresheet.
GBR v CZE
Great Britain’s U18s made it four wins from four at the European Championships in Malta after beating Czechia 20-9 (5-3, 4-2, 5-4, 6-0) on Tuesday morning
Amelie Perkins fired in 10 goals, while Lucy Blenkinship (3), Zianna Wright (2), Ruby Taylor (1), Georgia Haines (1), Elsie Graves (1) Isabella Ibbs (1) and Hattie Bates (1) were our other scorers.
Switzerland v GBR
Great Britain’s U18s secured maximum points at the European Championships in Malta after beating Switzerland 4-23 (0-5, 1-3, 1-7, 2-8) in their final group game on Wednesday morning
Another strong team performance, with 11 different players on the scoresheet. Amelie Perkins fired in seven, Lucy Blenkinship (3), Jaspreet Gill (2), Zianna Wright (2), Elsie Graves (2), Ruby Taylor (2), Jo Lamont-Tuckett (1), Isabella Ibbs (1), India Knights-Hume (1) Lily Ross (1) and Georgia Haines (1).
The impressive win was their fifth in a row in Gzira and Nick Humes’ squad are now likely to face Israel in Thursday’s crossovers at 6pm (UK time).
ISR v GBR
Great Britain’s U18s lost to Israel 13-9 (3-1, 3-2, 3-4, 4-2) in the crossovers on Thursday evening and miss out on a place in the top eight
Nick Hume’s squad will now face Germany in the 9th-12th semi-finals on Friday, 2pm start (UK time).
Captain Lily Ross and Amelie Perkins both hit hat-tricks against Israel, while Elsie Graves (2) and Lucy Blenkinship (1) were also on target.
GER v GBR
Despite a solid team effort Great Britain’s U18s lost out to Germany 11-10 (3-2, 2-2, 2-3, 4-3) in the first of their classification games on Friday afternoon.
Nick Hume’s squad will now face Slovakia in the 11th – 12th classification match on Saturday at 9:30am start (UK time)
Slovakia v GBR
Great Britain’s U18s finished their European Championships campaign with a powerful 6-13 (1-3, 1-3, 2-4, 2-3) victory against Slovakia in the 11th/12th classification final on Saturday🤽♀️🇬🇧
Zianna Wright and Amelie Perkins led the attack with four goals each, while Lucy Blenkinship (2), Ruby Taylor (1), Jo Lamont-Tuckett (1) and Elsie Graves (1) were our other scorers.
A fantastic way to end the tournament, winning all four quarters and leading throughout.
Nick Hume’s squad will now head home after six victories and just two defeats across seven days of action in Malta.
