POR v GBR

Great Britain’s senior women started their World Cup Division Two campaign with a 13-10 (3-2, 2-2, 3-1, 2-5, 3-0P) defeat to Portugal after penalties were needed to separate the two sides 🤽‍♀️ 🇬🇧
A strong final quarter saw Great Britain fight back from 9-5 down to force a shootout, but there wasn’t enough time to find a winner, and Portugal were more clinical with their 5m shots.
Captain Kathy Rogers (2), Katy Cutler (2), Toula Falvey (2), Elsie Graves (2), Milly Wordley (1) and Amelia Peters (1) were the scorers for Theo Nousios’ squad during regular time.
Next up for Great Britain is a lunchtime clash with Singapore on Wednesday, 12.30pm start (UK time).

Toula Falvey led the scoring with seven goals, while Zianna Wright (2), Katy Cutler (2), Milly Wordley (2), Amelie Cornell (2), Lily Ross (2), Izzy Howe (1), Amelia Peters (1), Emily Pyper (1) and Pippa Danielson (1) were also on target.
Congratulations also to Toula Falvey for being voted ‘Player of the match’ 👏
Next up for Theo Nousios’ squad is their final group game on Thursday against Kazakhstan, 2pm start (UK time).
GBR v Kazakhstan
Great Britain’s senior women beat Kazakhstan 17-9 (5-2, 4-1, 5-1, 3-5) in their final group game at the World Cup Division Two tournament on Thursday 🇬🇧 🤽‍♀️ 👏
Toula Falvey and Katy Cutler led the scoring with five goals each, while Milly Wordley (3), Amelia Peters (2), Izzy Howe (1) and Zianna Wright (1) were also on target.
Goalkeeper Madeline Brown was also in fine form, saving 10 of the 19 shots fired at her, and Falvey was again named ‘Player of the Match’ 👏
CAN v GBR
Great Britain will face Brazil in the 5th-8th semi-finals of the World Cup Division Two tournament after losing to Canada 14-9 (3-1, 4-0, 6-2, 1-6) in the quarter-finals on Friday 🤽‍♀️ 🇬🇧
Katy Cutler led the scoring against the Canadians, hitting five goals, while Toula Falvey (1), Emily Pyper (1), Kathy Rogers (1) and Amelie Cornell (1) were also on target.

Great Britain were narrowly beaten by Brazil 14-13 (1-3, 2-5, 7-1, 4-4) in their 5th-8th semi-final at the World Cup Division Two tournament on Saturday 🤽‍♀️ 🇬🇧
A poor third quarter proved costly, as Brazil fought back from 8-2 down to claim a slender victory.
Amelia Peters led the scoring for Great Britain, firing in four goals, while Katy Cutler (3), Izzy Howe (2), Elsie Graves (2), Toula Falvey (1) and captain Kathy Rogers were also on target.
Theo Nousios’ squad will now face the losers of the Turkey v Portgual game in the 7th-8th final on Sunday, 2pm start UK time (3pm local).

Great Britain finished their World Cup Division Two campaign on a high with a hard-fought 13-12 (3-4, 3-1, 6-3, 1-4) victory over Portugal on Sunday afternoon in Malta 🇬🇧 🤽‍♀️ 👏
Theo Nousios’ squad took control after the first quarter, but had to dig deep in the fourth to secure seventh place overall, as the Portuguese fought back to level late on.
Izzy Howe was the hero, sending in an exquisite lob shot with 1:07 remaining to win the game.
Goalkeeper Madeline Brown also played a key role, recording seven huge saves and was named Player of the Match.
