Great Britain’s Junior Women have finished 12th at the European Championships after a hard-fought 12-7 (3-2, 4-2, 2-0, 3-3) defeat to Germany
Imogen Smith expertly converted a hat-trick of penalties to top score for Great Britain with three, while Lilymay Girvin (1), Anna Motley (1), Lucy Mills (1) and Niamh Moloney (1) were also on target.
Despite the loss, the result and performance was a huge improvement from the opening day 12-3 (1-1, 3-0, 2-1, 6-1) defeat to the same opponents and the whole squad can be proud of their achievements in Volos.
The experienced gained has been invaluable and it’s been great to see the players get stronger as a team, and individually, as the tournament progressed
With the squad now preparing to fly home, we would like to say a massive thank you for all the excellent support here in Greece and back home
