Even though it isn’t strictly club news, nevertheless we couldn’t start our New Year’s newsletter without wishing our amazing Great Britain’s senior women’s team all the very best for their forthcoming European Championships in Eindhoven which starts on Friday 4th Jan. It’s been a decade since Great Britain competed in the continent’s showpiece tournament, and it is a fantastic start for the New Year for Home Nation water polo.
Welcome to our December News in which we take a snapshot of what has been going on in our clubs across England.
We start off this month celebrating those who have been nominated for Swim England National Awards in water polo. These awards celebrate the very best of aquatic sport and the individuals who contribute so much to make it the success it is. The National Award for Club of the Year went to Grantham WPC.
October was another busy month as the British Water Polo League swung into full action. Also this month four of our clubs have been competing in the LEN Challenger Cup after qualifying for the event given their ranking in the BWPL Super Five competition.
City of Manchester women’s team headed out to Novi Sad in Serbia to compete in the initial round of the Challenger Cup. They faced high quality opposition playing against the local Serbian team,
